„Die ganze Welt in einem Töpfchen Senf“ – in diesem Motto zeigt sich, wie auch im Namen des Theaters, eine gute Portion Ironie, Satire und Zeitkritik, die charakteristisch für das Senftöpfchentheater ist und sich vor allem im Veranstaltungsprogramm widerspiegelt.
Seit 1959 geben hier Künstler aus den Bereichen Kabarett, Comedy, Kleinkunst und Musik ihren „Senf“ ab. In einem stilvoll eingerichteten Theatersaal nehmen die Zuschauer an kleinen Tischen und in intimer Atmosphäre Platz, um sich von einem abwechslungsreichen Programm unterhalten zu lassen. Doch auf der Bühne steht nicht nur „irgendwer“: Die absoluten Größen der Szene haben im Senftöpfchen ihre ersten Schritte gemacht, oder sind hier bereits aufgetreten wie beispielsweise Jürgen von der Lippe, Hape Kerkeling, Harald Schmidt, Dieter Nuhr oder Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen, um nur einige zu nennen. Für Show-Nachwuchs ist stets gesorgt. So kann man die Stars von morgen schon heute im Rahmen der „Kabarett Bundesliga“ entdecken, einem deutschlandweiten Wettbewerb, der in den Räumlichkeiten des Theaters stattfindet.
Im Herzen der Kölner Altstadt ist mit dem Senftöpfchen eine einzigartige Spielstätte entstanden, die dort mittlerweile kaum mehr wegzudenken ist und die man unbedingt einmal erlebt haben muss.
