Anton Mejias (2001) started playing piano at the age of five. His first piano teacher was Meri Louhos. In 2010 Anton moved to Sibelius-Academy youth department where he is studying currently with Teppo
Koivisto and Niklas Pokki. He was also accepted to study in Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory. This year Anton was accepted to Juilliard Pre-College division. Anton kept his first solo recital at the age of 8 where he played for example his 12 preludes. Since that Anton has kept numerous solo recitals and performed for example at Joensuu Music Festival, Turku Music Festival, Mänttä Music Festival and Korsholm Music Festival. Abroad Anton has performed for example in Poland, Holland, Sweden, Spain and Germany. Anton is also an active chamber musician. Anton has participated number of master classes held by Matti Raekallio, Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Robert Levin, Janina Fialkowska, Antti Siirala, Andrzej Jasinski, Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist and David Fray. Steinway Festival kept in Finland 2016. He represented Finland in the 17th International Steinway Piano Festival same year. Anton won the second prize at the Tampere piano competition 2017 and was the youngest participant at the second round and at the finals. In 2019 Anton won the 9th Nordic piano competition at the age of 17. Anton was the youngest participant in the competition. Anton has been supported by Finnish Cultural Foundation and Martin Wegelius-foundation among others.
